UDL Fellows Program – 2024 Cohort
Thursday, December 14 | 12 pm – 1 pm
As part of the 2024 Small TLEF funding round, the Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic has earmarked funding to support a second cohort for the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Fellows Program. The UDL Fellows Program will run across four months, with the second intake occurring in May 2024. Faculty of Education Internal Deadline for proposal submission is January 5th, 2024, by 4pm. LDDI helps faculty with their applications. We provide consultation regarding pedagogical solutions; technical support and recommendations; evaluation strategies; project management; budget planning; and liaising with other units.

Zoom and Accessibility
Tuesday, February 6 | 12pm - 1pm
In this workshop, we will showcase practices and features to make your Zoom Meetings more accessible. With Zoom being an essential technology in our teaching, learning, and working spaces, it is important that all your participants are able to fully experience the content of your meeting. Many of these features are tucked away in the settings, meaning that accessibility is just a toggle away.
This workshop will cover:
• Overview of Zoom and the need for accessible meetings
• Recordings, audio transcripts and captioning
• Configuring meetings for speakers, interpreters, and translators
• Using Zoom's interactive features accessibly.

Alternative Assessments
Wednesday, February 14 | 12pm - 1pm
In this workshop, we will dive into alternative assessment practices that can be used in both online and face-to-face classrooms. We will introduce alternatives to traditional assessment tasks, while taking into account Universal Design for Learning principles, equity, diversity and inclusion, multi-modality, and the impact of generative AI.
This workshop will cover:
• Aligning assessments with learning outcomes
• Leveraging technology for alternative assessment
• Incorporating alternative assessments to support Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
• Practical ideas for your classroom.
