An Inter-Institutional Action on Climate Change: A Spotlight on Public Health

This interactive Viewpoint session is an extension of our collaborative podcast series titled, An Inter-Institutional Action on Climate Change, where thought leaders in social institutions engage in dialogue to discover transformative learning opportunities to address climate change.
In this session, Lana Voracek, a Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse, shares her perspective on climate change as a health issue and health concern for patients. Nafis Rahman will share her deep passion for public health and her commitment to addressing the complex connections between climate change and human well-being. Together, Lana Voracek and Nafis Rahman will discuss their unique perspectives and approaches to climate justice within the public health industry.

A Workshop for BEd Instructors: Getting in Sync With Your Digital Classroom

This workshop offers evidence-based practices and pedagogical methods for your online hybrid course designs. This workshop will guide you through your decision-making, inform your teaching choices, and support you to identify priorities in online learning spaces. You will learn practical strategies on how to organize, present, pace and structure your course to enhance student learning and engagement. We will showcase and provide examples of tools for individual and collaborative online activities in hybrid learning modes, that consider inclusivity, diversity and digital wellness in everyday teaching and learning.

Indigenous Art & Sustainability: Hands-on Beaded Earring Workshop
Tuesday, May 28 | 12pm – 2pm
Come join Cheyenne Cunningham for an outdoor hands-on Sustainable Beaded Earring Workshop on May 28th from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Cheyenne will provide a unique and authentic learning opportunity for you to gain a greater awareness of Indigenous people's connections with beadwork, food, and nature. A BBQ Salmon lunch and all beading materials will be provided. This workshop is limited to 20 participants. We will meet in the Neville Scarfe Building, room 1008. Don’t forget your sunscreen and a hat!
