Thursday, March 25 | 1PM - 2PMOur first event in our new Viewpoints series – “Cameras on, cameras off” – explores the issue of whether students, staff, faculty and others should be required to have their cameras on during synchronous sessions, or have the option to turn them off and remain unseen. At first glance, it may appear to be a binary issue, but upon closer inspection we see the complexities when delving into issues such as equity, student engagement, cognitive load, cultural considerations, and connecting to others. Topic: Cameras on, cameras off? Panelists:Dr. André Mazawi, Professor, EDST Moderator:Simone Hausknecht, Learning Designer, ETS |
