AI in Education: A Workshop for B.Ed. Students

In this in-class workshop, we explored generative AI in education contexts with Teacher Candidates in the BEd Program. We discussed how Teacher Candidates are using AI and demonstrated and experimented with Micosoft Copilot. We explored how AI works, and some of the ethical issues of using this technology, looking specifically at the BC K-12 context. We also invited critical conversations about using AI for course work and in K-12 classrooms.

Student Engagement Essentials: Using Technology to Support Meaningful Student Interactions

New and returning KIN TAs are invited to join us for a workshop that showcases the learning technologies available at UBC. You will learn how to use these tools to enhance student engagement in both synchronous and asynchronous settings and will discover how they can streamline your own workload by keeping interactions organized on platforms beyond email. Explore practical tools and strategies for creating interactive and efficient learning environments, helping you stay connected with students while managing your time more effectively.
This workshop is open to School of Kinesiology (KIN) TAs only.

2024 BEd Faculty Orientation
Wednesday, August 28 | 8:30 am – 2:30 pm
Faculty, BEd instructors and faculty advisors are invited to an in-person orientation for the 2024/25 Bachelor of Education program, hosted by the Teacher Education Office.
Join LDDI team members as we attend the orientation, and come say hello! We will be available to chat with new and returning BEd faculty members about LDDI’s services and how we can help you design great courses for your BEd students. LDDI will also present on the following topics:
- Adaptive Pedagogy: Collaborating on Strategies for Teaching and Learning
- Artificial Intelligence
