Technology in Transit is a monthly event organized by the Learning Design & Digital Innovation (LDDI) unit to showcase various learning technologies to students in the Faculty of Education. The purpose of this one-hour session is to raise awareness of different technologies and to show how to incorporate them into classrooms.
In this session, we will explore H5P (HTML5 Package) --- a free and open-source platform for creating, sharing, and reusing interactive content. Easy-to-use yet exceptionally versatile, H5P empowers educators to transform passive content into dynamic learning experiences that foster student comprehension and engagement. Take a peek through these windows to learning!

AI is everywhere! Wonder what the hype is all about? Are you using or thinking of using AI tools, but not sure how or if you should use them at work? Have questions about the ethical concerns of AI and how we even got here? In this LDDI professional development session, we delved into the murky waters of the rapidly evolving AI landscape in our diverse workplace contexts. With activities designed for various tools, we critically engaged Faculty of Education staff with generative AI from different lenses and perspectives, and had them gain the confidence to make informed decisions about AI.

AI in Education: A Workshop for B.Ed. Students
September 19
In this in-class workshop, we explored generative AI in education contexts with Teacher Candidates in the BEd Program. We discussed how Teacher Candidates are using AI and demonstrated and experimented with Micosoft Copilot. We explored how AI works, and some of the ethical issues of using this technology, looking specifically at the BC K-12 context. We also invited critical conversations about using AI for course work and in K-12 classrooms.
