Main “Big Picture” Responsibilities at LDDI
I support faculty and staff with all aspects of educational technologies and tools, such as Canvas, Zoom, Qualtrics, and Padlet. Additionally, I foster community learning by helping to deliver workshops, hosting engaging conversations, and organizing events on educational technology topics.
What are some of your specific, hands-on, day-to-day tasks at LDDI?
My day-to-day tasks primarily consist of responding to inquiries which come into the LDDI Inbox, ensuring that a prompt and effective solution is given for each request. I also assist with tasks around the LDDI office including with administration, events, and social media outreach.
How does your work help support the LDDI office, and the Faculty of Education as a whole?
My role ensures a smooth learning experience for everyone involved, including faculty, staff, and students. By supporting the LDDI team, I help enhance students’ education through the exploration of the latest educational technologies and the design of inclusive and accessible courses. Overall, my work allows the Faculty of Education to focus on teaching while my team and I handle technical challenges.
What are your specific areas of interest in the field of educational technology or beyond? How is your work at LDDI contributing or playing into those areas of interest?
My specific areas of interest in the field of educational technology include the use of artificial intelligence to enhance teaching and learning, fostering effective communication through technology, and ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in course design. I am particularly passionate about how AI-powered tools can personalize learning experiences and improve efficiency for both instructors and students, as well as how communication platforms can foster collaboration and engagement in diverse educational settings.
My work at LDDI supports these interests by helping faculty and staff integrate communication technologies into their teaching. Through resolving technical issues, conducting workshops, and introducing solutions, I foster accessible, engaging learning environments, enabling educators to focus on impactful teaching while enhancing student experiences.
