What are your main “big picture” responsibilities at LDDI?

At LDDI, my primary responsibilities encompass planning, developing, designing and assessing educational programs to ensure accessibility, consistency and engagement across all learning experiences. I collaborate closely with the program heads and instructors to coordinate the course builds for the Early Childhood Education (ECED) and Language and Literacy Education (LLED) programs and to offer learning design support for other units within the faculty. My role involves working alongside academics from the faculty and my LDDI colleagues to integrate educational technologies into pedagogical projects, enhancing learning design work and facilitating workshops. Additionally, I focus on effectively adopting Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles in both course and assessment design to create inclusive and interactive learning environments.

What are your specific areas of interest in the field of educational technology or beyond?

I am particularly passionate about integrating equitable and engaging educational technologies into pedagogical practices. My goal is to support academics in seamlessly incorporating these tools into their daily teaching, ensuring that all students benefit from enriched learning experiences. Moving forward, I aim to explore analytics to inform and enhance educational outcomes. Additionally, I am keen to explore the possibilities of artificial intelligence in assessments and learning environments, seeking innovative and multimodal ways to improve teaching and learning while acknowledging the ethical, practical and relational considerations involved.
