In this interactive workshop, participants got hands-on experience with popular GenAI tools. Guided by activities specifically designed for each tool, participants had the opportunity to leverage GenAI for teaching and learning, multimedia content creation, and research.

The LLED community was encouraged, regardless of experience or familiarity, to come and learn about GenAI and play with these tools!

During this workshop our panelists, Dr. Keri Ewart, Dr. Sandra Scott, Dr. Derek Gladwin, and Dr. Kshamta Hunter, were engaged in a compelling conversation about the intersections and implications of climate justice and digital innovation. The panelists shared their research and perspectives on the nexus between technology and the environment, delving into strategies and limitations across these intersections.

This event was hosted in collaboration with the Edith Lando Virtual Learning Centre.

During this workshop, we dived into alternative assessment practices that can be used in both online and face-to-face classrooms. We will introduce alternatives to traditional assessment tasks, while taking into account Universal Design for Learning principles, equity, diversity and inclusion, multi-modality, and the impact of generative AI. This workshop covered:
• Aligning assessments with learning outcomes
• Leveraging technology for alternative assessment;
• Incorporating alternative assessments to support Equity, Diversity and Inclusion;
•Practical ideas for your classroom.

During this workshop, we showcased practices and features to make your Zoom Meetings more accessible. With Zoom being an essential technology in our teaching, learning, and working spaces, it is important that all your participants are able to fully experience the content of your meeting. Many of these features are tucked away in the settings, meaning that accessibility is just a toggle away. This workshop covered:

• Overview of Zoom and the need for accessible meetings
• Recordings, audio transcripts and captioning
• Using Zoom’s interactive features accessibly.

This workshop marked the kickoff of our High Tea and AI series! During this event, we delved into the ways AI features in Padlet, Canva, GitMind, Copilot, and AI Tutor Pro can elevate engagement in learning. Participants also enjoyed a delightful spread of delicious treats throughout the session.
