Technology in Transit

Student-led lunchtime presentation showcasing cool projects they are working on.
October 9, 2013
Scarfe foyer from noon-1PM.

This month’s topic is QR Codes. QR stands for “Quick Response.” These mobile readable codes, can be coloured, placed on nearly anything, can contain text, URLs, and so much more. Using QR codes in the classroom makes learning fun.

QR codes are extremely versatile as they contain their own error correction data, internal orientation calibration and self-alignment markers. In this way it doesn’t matter whether the QR code is upside down or wrapped around a curved surface, the message will still get through. Where you are expected to place answers, place a QR code instead. Direct your students on a QR code treasure hunt. Or have them create their own QR codes full of information and investigate each other’s codes and meanings.
