Join us at the Scarfe Foyer during lunchtime on September 28th to see this month’s Technology in Transit showcase!

Teacher candidate Steph Martyniuk demonstrates how to use PowerPoint as an interactive trivia style game for in-class activities. This is an excellent way to test student’s comprehension and bring joy into classroom activity. Through this unique use of PowerPoint, Steph proves that the popular application is more than just a regular slide shower.

At Educational Technology Support, we are passionate about raising technology awareness and showing how technology can be used to enrich teaching. On the second Wednesday of every month, Educational Technology Support (ETS) hosts Technology in Transit to provide an environment for students in the Faculty of Education to showcase the technologies that they have been using in their classrooms. This one-hour session offers passers-by the chance to observe and engage with educational technology as they walk through Scarfe Foyer during their lunch break.

Our featured student this month is Steph Martyniuk.

Steph Martyniuk
Stephanie Martyniuk is a teacher candidate in the Secondary School Option, Art Cohort at UBC with an interest in multidisciplinary teaching. For the past 5 years Stephanie has taught overseas in South Korea as an ESL instructor, teacher, and administrator. Her games and activities have been shared and used by hundreds of ESL teachers from all over the world. When she is not studying Stephanie is reading, writing short stories, and thinking of other ways to incorporate active engagement into the classroom.
